What Our Roofline Installation Services Include?

Our roofline installation services include fascia board replacement, soffit board replacement, guttering & downpipe systems, bargeboard & verge replacement, UPVC cladding & finishing, and dry verge & dry ridge systems. Each service is part of a complete roofline replacement system designed to protect roof rafters, improve rainwater drainage, and provide long-lasting weather resistance for domestic and commercial properties through durable, low-maintenance uPVC roofline installation.

FENSA Compliance

Fascia Board Replacement

The fascia board forms the structural edge of the roofline, running along the lower roof perimeter and supporting the bottom row of roof tiles and the guttering system. Bowalker replaces rotting or damaged timber fascias with thick, hard-wearing uPVC fascia boards that protect roof rafters from moisture exposure and internal decay. Our fascia replacement service involves removing deteriorated materials, preparing the roof edge for secure fixing, and installing load-bearing uPVC fascias that provide long-lasting support for UPVC guttering systems. This installation improves weather resistance and reduces maintenance requirements while creating a clean, modern roofline finish.

Soffit Board Replacement

Installed directly beneath the fascia board, the soffit board closes the gap between the roof edge and the external wall while allowing controlled airflow into the roof space. We install ventilated uPVC soffit boards that help prevent condensation buildup, damp problems, and timber deterioration within the roof structure. Our soffit board replacement process removes damaged panels and installs modern, low-maintenance boards that preserve roof ventilation and enhance the roofline’s appearance. These durable soffits feature integrated ventilation channels and weather-resistant materials to ensure long-lasting performance.

Guttering & Downpipe Systems

The guttering and downpipe network plays a central role in protecting buildings by collecting rainwater from the roof and directing it safely away from the structure. Our team of certified roofline installers installs high-capacity UPVC guttering systems and durable downpipes that efficiently manage water flow on flat roofs, conservatory roofs, and traditional roof-tile systems. Our guttering & downpipe systems installation ensures proper drainage alignment, so rainwater flows smoothly through the system without overflow or leakage. These guttering replacement solutions provide reliable damp protection and help maintain the structural condition of walls and foundations.

Bargeboard & Verge Replacement

A bargeboard is essentially a fascia board installed on the gable end of a house, following the roof pitch to protect the purlins and provide a decorative finish. We replace weathered timber bargeboards with hard-wearing uPVC alternatives that resist the intense wind and rain exposure common at roof peaks. Our bargeboard & verge replacement service includes installing matching decorative trims, or finials, to maintain your property’s architectural character. Key benefits include improved weather resistance for gable ends, a permanent end to painting at heights, and a reinforced structure that prevents the mortar from cracking at the roof edge.

UPVC Cladding & Finishing

External uPVC cladding provides an additional protective layer for roofline areas, covering exposed surfaces and improving resistance to wind and rain. Bowalker installs purpose-built cladding panels that integrate with fascias and soffits to create a durable and attractive exterior finish. These lightweight panels protect structural boards from moisture while reducing maintenance requirements across dormer sections and gable walls. The result is a modern, weather-resistant finish that complements the overall roofline replacement system.

Dry Verge & Dry Ridge Systems

Dry verge systems provide a secure method of fixing roof tiles along the roof edges without using traditional mortar. We install these mechanical fixing systems to prevent tile movement, reduce maintenance issues, and protect roof structures from water penetration. Each dry verge system secures tiles firmly along the roofline while maintaining consistent ventilation and weather resistance. This installation provides a durable, long-lasting alternative to mortar-based verge systems while improving the stability of the roof edge.

What Are the Benefits of Installing Roofline?

The benefits of installing a roofline include preventing rot, dampness, and structural damage, improving drainage, reducing maintenance requirements, increasing property value, and supporting better roof ventilation. Modern roofline replacement systems, featuring durable uPVC fascias and soffits and high-capacity UPVC guttering, protect roof rafters from moisture exposure while maintaining efficient rainwater management for domestic and commercial properties.

5 benefits of installing a roofline are:

Prevents Rot, Damp & Structural Damage

Modern roofline systems protect roof rafters and roofing membranes from moisture exposure, reducing the risk of rotting timber and internal damp problems.

Ensures Effective Guttering & Drainage Performance

Strong fascia boards support gutters and downpipes, directing rainwater away from the structure and helping prevent overflow and exterior wall damage.

Low Maintenance With Modern uPVC

Hard-wearing uPVC fascias and soffits resist weather damage and require little regular maintenance compared with traditional timber roofline materials.

Boosts Property Value

A modern roofline installation improves the exterior appearance and structural condition of the property, supporting long-term property value.

Bowalker replaced all of our windows and patio doors in November. They are very efficient and got the job done in the pouring rain but did it quick and professionally. We had a couple of teething issues with the doors after completion and they did not hesitate to come out and rectify the issue. Excellent customer service and a friendly team. Would highly recommend

We had a total of 6 windows fitted at end of June 2025 (2 bathroom(frosted), 1 hallway,1 dining room and two big bay windows complete with 2 window boards). Took 5 days in total as bay windows were load bearing ,the window boards were not in warehouse so took extra time to arrive and fit , the silicone/mastic finish wasn’t great and they cut one end of a window board wrong , but after a telephone call a new team of fitters came out and rectified the mistakes of original fitters that we had noticed , a window pane had got scratched in delivery so they replaced that as well. This was a big job that entailed some mistakes but over time was rectified by bowalker windows by sending out another team of fitters to fix some minor mistakes of original fitters . We went on a recommendation from a work colleague who had used Bowalker windows in the past as were very good. Maybe just improve your fitters mastic silicone skills a bit more but is is an old house of 110 years and nothing is level in this house

Frequently Asked Questions

A roofline is the critical, exposed edge where a building’s roof meets its exterior walls, encompassing components such as fascia boards, soffits, bargeboards, and guttering. Its primary purpose is to protect roof rafters from water damage, prevent moisture ingress, and provide a finished, attractive appearance to the property. Properly installed rooflines also support efficient rainwater drainage and contribute to the building’s long-term structural integrity.

Roofline products are typically charged on a linear metre basis starting at £110 per metre installed not including any scaffolding costs.

Roofline installation takes between 1 and 3 days, depending on property size, roof complexity, and the number of roofline components being replaced. Smaller domestic properties with straightforward fascia, soffit, and guttering replacement may be completed within a day or two, while larger or multi-storey properties with additional cladding or dry ridge systems may require several days.

Bowalker provides a 10-year insurance-backed guarantee on all roofline installations, covering materials, workmanship, and any defects in the installed uPVC fascias, soffits, guttering, and associated roofline systems.

No, you do not need to be home during the roofline installation. Our professional in-house roofline installers can complete the work safely and securely without requiring homeowner presence, ensuring convenience and minimal disruption.

To maintain a roofline, regularly check fascias, soffits, and gutters for damage or blockages, ideally every six months. Remove leaves and debris from gutters and downpipes to ensure proper water flow, and inspect for cracks, loose fittings, or signs of wood rot. Keep ventilation in soffits clear and trim overhanging tree branches that may drop debris onto the roofline. Timber components should be repainted or treated periodically to maintain weather resistance, while uPVC fascias and soffits require minimal upkeep, providing a long-lasting, clean, and durable roofline finish.
