What Are Origin Windows?
Origin windows are precision-engineered aluminium windows designed and built in the UK, offered in two systems, the OW-70 slimline and the OW-80 premium. Both are made from high-grade aluminium with thermally broken frames, and both carry PAS 24 and Secured by Design certification as standard. The OW-70 delivers ultra-slim 65mm sightlines and a flush external casement finish for clean, contemporary aesthetics. The OW-80 goes further, adding an internal flush finish, a wider range of configurations and Aerogel technology that pushes thermal performance to an A++ energy rating and U-values as low as 0.8 W/m²K. Every window leaves Origin’s factory in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire with an industry-leading 20-year manufacturer’s guarantee, including the powder-coated finish.
Bowalker installs and replaces the full Origin range across Sussex and Surrey, including the OW-70 and OW-80 windows alongside Origin’s bifold doors, sliding doors and front doors, so you can use one manufacturer and one set of matching finishes throughout the property.
British-made and backed with 20 years
Origin designs and manufactures every window at its UK factory, and backs every product, including the finish, with an industry-leading 20-year guarantee. That is not a figure many manufacturers commit to.
Two systems, one clear choice
The OW-70 and OW-80 give us a straightforward specification tool. The OW-70 delivers ultra-slim sightlines and a flush external finish for contemporary builds. The OW-80 adds internal flush and Aerogel thermal technology for the highest possible energy performance, up to A++ and a U-value of 0.8 W/m²K.
One manufacturer, whole-property coverage
The Origin range covers aluminium casement and flush windows, bifold doors, sliding doors and front doors, all with matching finishes across every opening.
No subcontractors, ever
Our own advisers, surveyors and installers quote and complete every job, so the people who specify your windows are the people who fit them.
Why Bowalker Installs Origin Windows?
We do not fit other companies’ products, and we do not install every brand we are asked to. We choose the systems we would be happy to put in our own homes, and Origin earns its place for a few clear reasons:
It is an approach our customers have rated ‘Excellent’ on Google and 9.9 on Checkatrade, and one we will not compromise on.
Origin Window Styles Available from Bowalker
Origin’s windows are all aluminium and offered in two systems, so you can match the sightline, performance and finish to your home rather than paying for more than you need.
The window options Bowalker installs are:
OW-70 Slimline Window
Origin’s slimmest aluminium window, with a 65mm sightline, external flush casement and a choice of square-edge or chamfered glazing bead. Available as casement, bay and fixed-light configurations. U-values down to 1.2 W/m²K with the right glass specification. The right choice for contemporary homes and extensions where maximum glass and minimum frame are the priority.
OW-80 Premium Window
Origin’s most versatile and highest-performing window, with a flush internal and external finish and a broader range of configurations including casement, French window, bay and gable. Aerogel technology available for an A++ energy rating and U-values as low as 0.8 W/m²K. Secured by Design with Yale’s Encloser locking system as standard.
Looking beyond windows, we also fit Origin’s bifold doors, Artisan and Patio sliding doors, and front doors, so you can specify one manufacturer and one set of matching finishes throughout the property.
Colour and Finish Options Available
Because Origin’s windows are aluminium, they take a powder-coated finish that is tough, corrosion-resistant and will not fade, flake or need repainting. White is the most popular choice, but the range runs far wider, and Origin’s dual-colour option lets you specify one shade inside and another outside, so the windows can suit your interior and your kerb appeal at the same time.
The finishes Bowalker can supply include:
Over 150 RAL colours
Available in matt, satin or gloss powder-coated finishes, covering everything from anthracite grey and jet black to bold and contemporary shades.
Dual Colour
Available on both OW-70 and OW-80, letting you match the exterior frame to your building while the interior colour complements your décor.
Woodgrain effects
Realistic timber-look finishes for homes where the warmth of wood is wanted alongside the performance and maintenance-free durability of aluminium.
Textured Finishes
Available on selected colours for a more tactile surface and a distinctive look.
The powder-coat finish is covered by Origin’s 20-year guarantee. Specialist colours may carry a longer lead time. We will set out exactly where your chosen finish falls when we quote. Whichever you pick, we match it across your windows and doors for a consistent look throughout.
Performance and Features of Origin Windows
Origin builds its windows to a measured standard rather than a vague promise. Both the OW-70 and OW-80 exceed current Building Regulations and carry PAS 24 and Secured by Design certification as standard, and the OW-80 goes further still with Aerogel insulation technology that achieves an A++ energy rating, the highest available for any window on the UK market.
Across the range, the features Bowalker can specify include:
- Warmth and lower bills: High-grade aluminium profiles with polyamide thermal breaks and high-specification glazing keep heat in and heating bills down.
- Aerogel thermal upgrade (OW-80): Originally developed for use in spacecraft, Aerogel insulation boosts the OW-80 to U-values as low as 0.8 W/m²K and an A++ energy rating without increasing the frame size.
- Double or triple glazing: Both systems accommodate double and triple glazing units, with the OW-80 accepting up to 44mm triple-glazed units for maximum thermal and acoustic performance.
- Quieter rooms: Sealed frames and double or triple glazing significantly reduce traffic and street noise, worth specifying on any road-facing elevation.
- Tested security: PAS 24 certified and Secured by Design approved as standard, meeting Document Q for new builds. OW-70 uses a Nemesis multipoint lock; OW-80 uses Yale’s Secured by Design-approved Encloser system, with hinge guards as standard on both.
- A choice of glass: Obscure and decorative options for bathrooms and privacy, alongside clear units, specified to suit each room.
Replacing Your Windows with Origin
If your windows let in draughts, mist up between the panes or no longer lock as they should, replacing them is usually more cost-effective than paying for repeated repairs. The tell-tale signs that a window has reached the end of its working life include:
Bowalker replaces tired timber, uPVC or aluminium windows with Origin throughout the home, matching new frames to your property’s style and budget, including upgrades from older units to the current OW-70 and OW-80 systems. Every replacement is surveyed and fitted by our in-house team, and the old windows are removed and taken away on completion, leaving a warmer, quieter and more secure home.
Draughts, or rooms that feel cold near the windows
Condensation or misting trapped between the panes of glass
Stiff handles, or locks that no longer catch properly
Swollen, warped or rotten frames
Heating bills that keep creeping up
Warranty: Two Layers of Protection
New windows are a long-term investment, so it is worth knowing exactly who stands behind them. With Bowalker, you are covered on two fronts, the product and the fitting, by two separate guarantees.
In practice, both the manufacturer and the installer are accountable, and you have it in writing from each of them. It is the same cover we put behind every installation, and one of the reasons our customers return to us and recommend us years after the job is done.
Origin 20-year product guarantee
Origin guarantees the window itself, including the frame, hardware, finish and sealed glazing units, for up to 20 years against manufacturing defects. This includes the powder-coat finish, which is covered for the same period.
Bowalker's 10-year installation guarantee
We guarantee our own workmanship for 10 years, and that guarantee is insurance-backed. An independent insurer underwrites it, so your cover stands even in the unlikely event we were no longer trading, a level of protection a verbal promise cannot match.
Real Installations: Before and After
The best measure of any window is the difference it makes on a real home, not in a brochure. The gallery below shows Origin installations our own team has carried out across Sussex and Surrey, the same homes before we started and after we had finished, so you can judge the change for yourself.
