uPVC Bay Windows
uPVC Bay Windows
Combining the classic appearance of a projecting bay with the durability and low-maintenance benefits of modern uPVC frames, uPVC bay windows are a popular choice for Victorian, Edwardian and contemporary homes. We install and replace uPVC bay windows with multi-chambered profiles, Low-E double or triple glazing, argon-filled sealed units, warm-edge spacer bars, secure multipoint locking systems and a choice of smooth or authentic woodgrain finishes, ensuring every installation complements your property's style whilst improving comfort, energy efficiency and kerb appeal.
Learn More →Aluminium Bay Windows
Aluminium Bay Windows
Aluminium bay windows create slim sightlines that maximise natural light whilst providing exceptional strength and durability, making them particularly suited to contemporary homes, extensions and renovated period properties where larger glazed areas and a modern appearance are priorities. Our in-house installers install and replace aluminium bay windows with thermally broken frames, high-performance Low-E glazing, durable RAL powder-coated finishes and secure multipoint locking systems, delivering a sleek appearance alongside excellent energy efficiency, weather resistance and long-term reliability.
Learn More →Preserving the traditional character of period properties with the natural warmth and elegance of real wood, timber bay windows are ideally suited to listed buildings, conservation areas and heritage homes where maintaining authentic architectural features is important. Using engineered timber, high-performance glazing, microporous paint or stain finishes and traditional ironmongery, we install and replace timber bay windows that respect your property's original character whilst improving thermal performance, weather resistance and everyday comfort.
Learn More →Double Glazed Bay Windows
Double Glazed Bay Windows
Using two panes of Low-E glass separated by an argon-filled insulated cavity with warm-edge spacer bars, double glazed bay windows reduce heat loss, minimise condensation and improve acoustic performance whilst allowing the bay to fill your home with natural light. Bowalker installs and replaces double glazed bay windows across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame systems, with each installation completed to current building regulations and designed to improve thermal efficiency, security and everyday comfort without compromising the bay's appearance or proportions.
Learn More →Triple Glazed Bay Windows
Triple Glazed Bay Windows
For higher levels of thermal insulation and acoustic performance than standard double glazing, triple glazed bay windows use three panes of glass with two insulated cavities to reduce heat loss and improve year-round comfort. They are particularly well suited to homes exposed to busy roads, colder locations and north-facing elevations where greater energy efficiency and noise reduction are priorities. Every triple glazed bay window we install or replace combines modern thermal performance with elegant design to create a quieter, warmer and more comfortable living environment.
Learn More →Using patterned glazing to diffuse visibility whilst allowing natural daylight to enter the room, obscure glass bay windows are commonly installed in bathrooms, entrance halls and ground-floor rooms where consistent privacy is beneficial without blocking incoming light. We install and replace obscure glass bay windows across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame systems, with a range of privacy levels and decorative pattern options available to ensure every installation complements your home's design and glazing style.
Learn More →Featuring an acid-etched frosted finish that softens incoming natural light whilst maintaining consistent privacy throughout the day, satin glass bay windows are ideal for bathrooms, home offices, front-facing entrance areas and ground-floor rooms where a clean, contemporary glazing finish is preferred without sacrificing daylight. Our installers install and replace satin glass bay windows across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame systems, creating elegant installations that combine everyday privacy with a refined appearance and straightforward long-term maintenance.
Learn More →Recreating the traditional appearance of decorative leaded glazing within modern insulated glazing units, leaded glass bay windows are a popular choice for Victorian, Edwardian and cottage-style properties, combining authentic period aesthetics with improved insulation, weather resistance and security. Bowalker installs and replaces leaded glass bay windows with classic diamond, square or bespoke lead patterns and period-appropriate came widths, carefully matching existing window proportions and detailing to preserve your property's architectural character.
Learn More →Retaining the decorative charm of traditional coloured glazing whilst benefiting from modern window performance, stained glass bay windows are particularly suited to period homes where feature windows form part of the property's original character. We install and replace stained glass bay windows with careful attention to detail and can incorporate or encapsulate existing stained glass panels within insulated glazing units where appropriate, helping preserve your home's heritage whilst improving comfort, security and energy efficiency.
Learn More →Featuring a specialist reflective external coating that increases daytime privacy whilst maintaining clear outward views when outdoor light levels exceed indoor lighting, mirror glass bay windows are well suited to street-facing elevations, ground-floor living spaces and contemporary homes where reducing outside visibility is a daily priority. Our in-house installers install and replace mirror glass bay windows across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame systems, preserving the elegance of your bay whilst helping reduce glare, solar heat gain and internal temperature rises during warmer months.
Learn More →Adding an internal glazed panel behind the existing window to improve insulation and reduce outside noise without altering the property's external appearance, secondary glazing bay windows are particularly suitable for listed buildings, conservation areas and period homes where replacing the original bay may not be possible. Bowalker installs secondary glazing for bay windows in fixed, sliding or hinged configurations, helping homeowners improve comfort, reduce draughts and retain their property's original character.
Learn More →Fixed Bay Windows
Fixed Bay Windows
Designed to maximise natural light and uninterrupted views whilst maintaining the distinctive projection of a bay window, fixed bay windows are commonly combined with opening casement or tilt and turn side lights to create bright living spaces, picture window arrangements and expansive glazed elevations. Every fixed bay window we install or replace is carefully measured and fitted to suit your property's specific dimensions, providing excellent thermal performance, secure glazing and a seamless architectural finish across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame systems.
Learn More →Bowalker installs and replaces casement bay windows featuring side-hung or top-hung opening lights that provide excellent ventilation whilst retaining the traditional appearance of a bay window. Suitable for both period and contemporary properties, they combine practical everyday use with strong thermal performance and security, with each installation completed using precision measurements, energy-efficient glazing and secure multipoint locking systems across uPVC, aluminium and timber frame options.
Learn More →Offering two opening functions within a single frame, tilt and turn bay windows allow the sash to tilt inwards for secure background ventilation or open fully inward for easy cleaning and maximum airflow, making them particularly suited to modern homes and upper-floor rooms where accessibility and controlled ventilation are important. Our experienced installers install and replace tilt and turn bay windows with high-performance glazing, thermally efficient frames, secure multipoint locking and a clean contemporary appearance.
Learn More →Recreating the timeless appearance of traditional sash windows whilst incorporating modern insulated glazing and improved weather sealing, vertical sliding bay windows are ideal for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian properties where preserving period character is important without compromising on thermal efficiency or security. Read moreBowalker replaced all of our windows and patio doors in November. They are very efficient and got the job done in the pouring rain but did it quick and professionally. We had a couple of teething issues with the doors after completion and they did not hesitate to come out and rectify the issue. Excellent customer service and a friendly team. Would highly recommend
Read moreWe had a total of 6 windows fitted at end of June 2025 (2 bathroom(frosted), 1 hallway,1 dining room and two big bay windows complete with 2 window boards). Took 5 days in total as bay windows were load bearing ,the window boards were not in warehouse so took extra time to arrive and fit , the silicone/mastic finish wasn’t great and they cut one end of a window board wrong , but after a telephone call a new team of fitters came out and rectified the mistakes of original fitters that we had noticed , a window pane had got scratched in delivery so they replaced that as well. This was a big job that entailed some mistakes but over time was rectified by bowalker windows by sending out another team of fitters to fix some minor mistakes of original fitters . We went on a recommendation from a work colleague who had used Bowalker windows in the past as were very good. Maybe just improve your fitters mastic silicone skills a bit more but is is an old house of 110 years and nothing is level in this house

Frequently Asked Questions
What Are Bay Windows?
Bay windows are windows that project outwards from the external wall of a property, creating additional interior space and allowing natural light to enter from multiple angles. They typically consist of a larger central window with two or more side windows set at an angle or gentle curve. Bay windows are available in designs such as box bays, bow bays, splay bays and single-end bays, making them suitable for both period and contemporary homes.
How Long Does Bay Window Installation Take?
The total cost of a fully fitted bay window in the UK typically ranges from £1,500 to £4,500, with most homeowners paying around £2,000 to £3,000 for a standard three-panel uPVC double-glazed bay. At Bowalker, our installation rate starts from £450 for bay windows under 5m², rising to £900 for larger bays over 5m². The final cost varies depending on frame material, with uPVC being the most affordable and aluminium and timber commanding a higher price, alongside window size, glazing specification and whether any structural adjustments are required.
How Do You Clean Bay Windows?
Most bay window installations are completed within 1 to 2 days, although larger bays or projects requiring structural work may take longer. Before installation begins, our team carries out a detailed survey to confirm measurements, assess the existing opening and plan the installation process. Our in-house installers complete every installation carefully to minimise disruption whilst ensuring the new bay window is securely fitted and fully compliant with current Building Regulations.
How Do You Choose the Right Bay Windows for Your Home?
Clean bay windows by washing frames with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners that can damage painted, powder-coated or woodgrain finishes, before cleaning the glass with a non-abrasive glass cleaner to remove smears and residue. Clean opening sashes, hinge mechanisms, multipoint locking hardware and drainage channels regularly to prevent debris accumulation, maintain smooth operation and ensure weather seals remain effective throughout the year.
What Bay Window Design Ideas Should You Consider for Your Home?
The right bay windows depend on your property’s architectural style, available space, energy-efficiency requirements and preferred frame material. Traditional homes often suit engineered timber or heritage-style uPVC bay windows, whilst aluminium bay windows complement contemporary properties with their slim sightlines and larger glazed areas. During your consultation, we assess your property and recommend bay windows that combine appearance, performance and practicality.
What Guarantee Do You Provide on Bay Window Installation?
The best bay window design complements your property’s architecture whilst improving natural light and usable living space. Features such as double or triple glazing, decorative glazing bars, leaded or stained glass and integrated window seats can all enhance the finished appearance. Choosing frame colours and finishes that match your existing windows and doors also creates a balanced and consistent exterior.
